I was recently drawn to the Slow Food site after seeing an advertisement for the Tucson Food and Film Festival, and became somewhat enthralled. Any group that purports to be an “eco-gastronomic” organization must be worth looking into, after all. I have yet to determine if they are rabid crazies hell-bent that broccoflower is a sign of the apocalypse (ala PETA) or the kind of forward-thinking green outfit I’d like to get involved with, but as a hard-core foodie with an ecology degree, the message sure seems like a good one.
